Extending properties to accommodate multi-generational families is becoming increasingly popular. These renovations require substantial thought and meticulous planning, to meet the individual and ever-changing needs of each generation.

The owners of this semi-detached property in Hertfordshire required a self-contained granny annexe, to accommodate the oldest generation of their family.

By converting the garage and creating a two-storey extension to the side of the property, I was able to design a fantastic space, which included a spacious kitchen and living room on the ground floor, with an upstairs bedroom and bathroom. This gave the older generation complete independence and privacy, with the convenience of their family right next door.
