This beautiful period property was purchased as a converted chapel in 2001. It was already a fantastic home, but the new owners required more living space to suit their needs. The existing kitchen was quite small, lacking in natural light and they wanted to incorporate a ground floor office, to enable working from home.
I created a plan that involved demolishing the original lean-to extension, which was replaced by a two-storey extension, to the rear of the property.
This completely transformed the ground floor, creating a light and spacious open plan kitchen and family room, with bi-folding doors opening directly onto the garden, and a study in the space of the original kitchen. This enabled the owners to combine contemporary living, whilst enjoying the period features that initially drew them to the property.
