I have always enjoyed being creative and discovered my passion for architecture during my studies; realising I could have a career doing something I love! I graduated from London’s Kingston University in 1993 with a BA Hons degree in Interior Design/Architecture. With over 20 years’ in the industry I haven’t looked back, as I am fulfilling my passion every working day.
My career began working for a number of design and build companies, as well as architects in London, before setting up a freelance design service for designers and architects in 2003. In 2006, I launched Alison Phillips Design and have since been transforming spaces in small to medium sized residential properties, across the Chilterns. During this time, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in the area, creating perfect living spaces for my clients across a range of styles.

Here’s where I get creative! Once I have the client brief, I spend the working day in my peaceful garden office, with my dog Jess snoozing happily by my side. I get completely absorbed in the design work, which I love, finding innovative ways to utilise a space, creating something practical and beautiful.
Much of my free time is spent on long country walks, or taking trips to the seaside when I can; being outside surrounded by nature feeds my creative mind. I love spending time with my family and friends and if I need to completely switch off, there’s nothing better than getting my head buried in a good book!
